KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): Cypark Resources Bhd today clarified that the fire at the Pajam landfill has not affected operations at the integrated renewable energy park.
The integrated renewable energy developer and environmental solutions provider said the fire was restricted to the active dumping area currently operated by a landfill operator appointed directly by the local authority.
"Cypark is also not responsible for the area on fire as this area has not been handed over to Cypark for scientific closure; nor is Cypark involved in the operations to douse the fire," it said in a statement today.
It also informed that the operation at Cypark's eight megawatt solar park was also affected by the incident.
"Similarly, the closure works which have been completed by Cypark remains intact," it added.
Cypark stated that it would not hesitate to lend a hand where needed, should the local authority request for its assistance. – Bernama
