WASHINGTON (July 22): A strong and shallow earthquake struck central China on Monday, the United States Geological Survey said.
The USGS said the 5.9 magnitude quake, initially reported as a magnitude 6.0, struck 97 miles (156 km) west of Tianshui in Gansu province and at a depth of 0.6 miles (1 km).
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury. - Reuters
