Maybank IB lists eight call warrants, including MAS, AirAsia shares

KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Investment Bank Bhd has listed eight cash-settled call warrants (SW) over ordinary shares on behalf of eight companies with an issue size 100 million each on Wednesday.

It said on the warrants were for AirAsia Bhd, Bumi Armada Bhd, BIMB Holdings Bhd, Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, MAS, Malaysia Building Society Bhd, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd, and Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd.

It said the warrants provided an opportunity for savvy investors to participate in a potentially volatile market.

"The primary focus of this tranche is a broad exposure to the oil and gas sector, ranging from offshore services to petrochemical products. This tranche also has additional exposure to the financial services sector as well as the airline industry.

"The call warrants offer investors the opportunity to capture upside potential of the underlying shares at a fraction of the price of the underlying shares if they have a positive view on the shares," Maybank Investment Bank said.

It said the Air Asia, Armada, BIMB, Dayang, MAS, MBSB, MHB and Petronas Chemicals call warrants each have a gearing ratio of 5.28 times, 4.38 times, 4.00 times, 3.24 times, 3.40 times, 5.07 times, 6.97 times and 7.36 times respectively.

The tenure of all eight SWs is approximately 12 months.
