No increase in Bank Negara's key rate
PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara is maintaining the benchmark overnight policy rate (OPR) at 3%, amid weakness in external demand and increased uncertainties to the balance of risks surrounding the outlook for domestic growth and inflation.
“Overall growth prospects, could be affected by risks in the global economy and international financial markets,” it said. The central bank has maintained the OPR at 3% since May 2011.
