Education DG tells teachers, students to stay away from illegal rally
KUANTAN: Teachers and students have been reminded to stay away from the illegal rally that has been planned for July 9 by certain groups hostile to the government.
Education Director-General Datuk Abd Ghafar Mahmud said on Wednesday, June 29 it was not appropriate for teachers as government employees to participate in it.
Disciplinary action would be taken against them if they were found to be involved, he cautioned.
Meanwhile, Abd Ghafar said the Education Ministry was constantly upgrading the service quality of teachers in the country.
"It is an on-going thing - we meet up for discussions on the matter with relevant quarters including the Public Service Department from time to time," he told reporters after launching the 17th National Headmasters' Educational Convention, here
