US citizens can trade in Malaysia derivatives market
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission will allow its citizens to buy and sell Bursa Malaysia Derivatives’ Kuala Lumpur Composite Index Futures Contracts, the Malaysian exchange said today.
The decision “will have a spill-over effect for our equities market as investors in the U.S. will be able to hedge their positions in the derivatives market,” Tajuddin Atan, chief executive officer of Bursa Malaysia Bhd, said in an e-mailed statement. The move takes effect immediately. -- Bloomberg
