CYBERJAYA (Oct 24):  Property developer, Emkay Group, will develop a light industrial park at AutoVille, here, with a gross development value of RM100 million.
Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Khalif Mustapha Kamal said the group had already sold more than 90 per cent of the 40 units of properties comprising terrace, semi-detached and detached commercial units to be built on a 4.5ha site.
He said terrace commercial units were sold to local automobile companies at RM1.5 million, semi-detached units for RM3.3 million and detached units for RM6.4 million.
"With the population in Cyberjaya expected to swell to 100,000 by 2016, Cyberjaya will be a ready-market for automobile-related business such as car showrooms, 3S or 4S centres, maintenance outlets, spare parts and components repair and service centres, vehicle accessory and cosmetics' shops.
"Now, we have to go either to Puchong or Dengkil to fix our car parts or accessories. We're committed to enhance Cyberjaya as a liveable city and dedicated to develop products, which provide convenience to the community here," he told reporters after witnessing the symbolic commencement of piling works through skype here today.
Ahmad Khalif said the light industrial park is expected to be completed by end of next year.
He said Emkay Group will also launch several mega projects over the next four years entailing RM5 billion in gross development value.
He said the mixed development project comprising residential and commercial units will be developed on a 60ha site here.
The project will be developed by the group's six subsidiaries, he said.
The group aims to earn RM600 million revenue next year, 20 per cent more than this year's RM500 million target, he said.
"To realise the target, we'll launch two mega projects consisting of mixed properties, including 3,682 units of affordable homes, with a overall gross development value of RM1 billion," he added.
