KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Cosway Pharmacy Alamanda achieved a landmark
RM1 million in monthly sales from December last year.
This achievement won its Bumiputera operator, Rohamiza Faizati Mohamed,
praises from Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk
Hassan Malik.
Speaking at the grand opening of the top achieving pharmacy store at
Alamanda, Putrajaya, today, he also congratulated Cosway Corporation Bhd on
its free store model which had created successful entrepreneurs like Rohamiza.
He was particularly impressed that Cosway's Bumiputera members had not only
enjoyed success but are also its top achievers.
"This proves that the free store concept is indeed a successful model that
provides the platform for creating more entrepreneurs, including pharmacists,"
he added.
The text of his speech was released here today.
Cosway Corporation Chief Executive Officer Yeap Dein Wah at the same event
said the company will introduce new initiatives such as a second optional profit
plan that enables members to enjoy higher income opportunities from both their
local and global businesses.
"Within a short time we have established 135 Cosway Pharmacy Store's, which
represent the latest free store model created in 2008," he added.
A copy of his speech was also made available.
The Cosway Pharmacy Model was introduced in January last year.
Under the free store concept, enterprising individuals can learn business and entrepreneurial skills, while gaining valuable experience
being their own boss as well as earning a lucrative and sustainable income.
This is without the usual costs and risks associated with traditional business models.
Cosway bears the cost of renovations, equipment, IT systems, rent, utilities and promotions, with products supplied on a consignment
basis. -- BERNAMA
