Celcom Axiata revenue inches up to RM2.02b in Q3

KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd recorded its 30th consecutive quarter of growth, with revenue for July to September 2013 reaching RM2.02bil, up a marginal 0.1% from a year ago.
\It said on Monday that quarterly earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 0.2% to RM898mil.
Celcom's subscriber base grew to 13.5 million while smartphone users grew to 3.75 million during the quarter, making up 27.8% of total subscribers.
The telco sustained mobile broadband leadership with 1.2 million subscribers contributing RM283mil in Q3 2013, a quarterly growth of 6.7% and contributing 14% of overall revenue.
