SISB, MPASB in final talks over Samalaju phosphate plant

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6): Samalaju Industries Sdn Bhd (SISB), a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd, is in the final stages of
negotiation with Malaysian Phosphate Additives Sdn Bhd (MPASB), pertaining
to the integrated phosphate plant in Samalaju, Sarawak.
In a statement here today, Cahya Mata Sarawak said the parties are in the final
stages of negotiations of a shareholders' agreement, technical assistance
agreement and term sheet for the power purchase agreement for the plant,
estimated to cost RM850 million and with annual production capacity of about
500,000 tonnes.
On June 7, 2012, SISB signed a memorandum of understanding with MPASB to
record their intention to enter into talks, in good faith pertaining to an integrated
phosphate plant.
