KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 27): Ekovest Bhd, a construction and infrastructure group with a growing presence as a toll concessionaire, aims to acquire more land in Greater Kuala Lumpur and Iskandar Malaysia.

Managing Director Lim Keng Cheng said the company's appetite was focused on these two areas given their potential for infrastructure developements such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) which would help to naturally lift property prices.

Currently, Ekovest has planned projects with a gross development value (GDV)of RM4 billion in Kuala Lumpur, on top of its newly-launched RM1.63 billion EkoCheras mixed development.

Upcoming launches include the RM507 million serviced apartments EB Titiwangsa in Jalan Pahang to be completed in 2018 and RM2.79 billion hotel and apartment EB Gateway in Setapak, slated for completion in 2023.

Lim said the Malaysian property outlook was still enticing for investors as it is relatively cheaper, rich in natural resources and is politically stable.
