Handal Resources ties up with Scomi Oiltools

PETALING JAYA (Jan 24, 2014): Integrated offshore crane services provider and fabricator, Handal Resources Bhd has partnered with Scomi Oiltools Sdn Bhd (Scomi Oiltools) to supply modular workover rig, offshore pedestal cranes and related services to oilfields in Africa and Middle East.
Under the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between the two company yesterday, both parties will enter into a specific agreement to formalise working arrangements in relation to the supply of equipment and related services within the next six months.
In addition to supplying offshore pedestal cranes and modular rig, the MOA also includes the supply of services for operations, repair and maintenance.
"The signing of this MOA effectively expands our reach beyond our familiar markets in South East Asia into international countries where Scomi has presence. This includes Nigeria, Congo, as well as Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Mallek said the collaboration with Scomi Oiltools speaks volumes of Handal's quality and reputation. "It also allows us to better market our brand and leverage on their existing global clientele, translating into enhanced prospects for the group," he said in a statement yesterday.
