JAKS edges up on getting clearance for Vietnam job

KUALA LUMPUR: JAKS Resources Bhd shares rose on Tuesday, July 5 after it finally cleared the hurdle for a 1,200MW coal-fired power plant in Vietnam.

At 9.30am, JAKS edged up half a sen to 68.5 sen with 383,000 shares traded.

For JAKS, the investment certificate is important for it to go ahead with the signing of the projects documents which include the build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract, power purchase agreement, coal supply and land lease.
