KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 14): Cuscapi Bhd has secured a RM21 million contract to provide and maintain the point-of-sale (POS) system for the existing Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) terminal and the new low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) in KLIA2.

In a statement today, Cuscapi CEO Her Chor Siong said it had clinched the five-year contract from Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.

"The scope of work under the agreement covers the provision of hardware, software solutions including implementation and yearly maintenance of the POS system for a duration of 5 years.

"This fully-integrated POS solution will be deployed for all retail units and F&B outlets in the existing KLIA terminal and the new LCCT KLIA 2," Her said.

Her said the project was expected to contribute positively to the company’s performance in financial year ending December 31, 2014.

Cuscapi is not new to MAHB. Her said Cuscapi' POS system has been supporting retailers at the KLIA terminal for the past four years.

He said Cuscapi's proven track record had helped the company secure the KLIA2 contract.

"Cuscapi will support close to 100 retail units for both the existing KLIA terminal as well as the new LCCT KLIA2.

“Cuscapi will ensure that all necessary procurements as well as resources are in place to ensure that the POS system is up and running for the new LCCT KLIA2 when it opens on May 2," Her said.

Having secured the klia2 contract, Her said Cuscapi planned to extend its expertise to other Asian airports.
