KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 18): Based on Bursa Malaysia announcements and news flow today, stocks to watch tomorrow (February 19) may include the following companies :
Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) reported a net loss of RM343.44 million in the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2013 compared with a net profit of RM51.37 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to RM3.9 billion from RM3.87 billion.
MAS' full-year net loss widened to RM1.17 billion from a net loss of RM432.59 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to RM15.12 billion from RM13.76 billion.
Hup Seng Industries Bhd's net profit rose 11% to RM9.35 million in the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2013 from RM8.44 million a year earlier. The biscuit manufacturer's revenue climbed to RM66.69 million from RM63.14 million.
Full-year net profit rose to RM36.75 million from RM32.54 million a year earlier. Revenue was higher at RM251.41 million compared with RM247.82 million.
The company plans to pay a dividend of eight sen a share for the quarter in review. This brings full-year dividends to 23 sen a share.
Datasonic Group Bhd may be closely watched after Bursa Malaysia issued an unusual market activity query on the rise in the share price of the electronic-identification specialist.
In response, Datasonic said it was not aware of any corporate development which might have led to the rise in the stock's price.
The firm however said it "is continuously looking for business opportunities to expand our business, improve our margins and mitigate any unforeseen circumstances".
Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) and Bumi Armada Bhd will announce their quarterly financials tomorrow.
Plantation group KLK will announce its results for the first quarter ended December 31, 2013.
Bumi Armada which offers oil and gas support services, will announce its numbers for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2013.
