KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 20): Asia Bioenergy Technologies Bhd's (AsiaBio) associated company, Nexfuel Ltd, has signed an agreement with US-based Cool Planet Energy Systems Inc, to set up fuel production plants in Malaysia, to transform non-food biomass into gas.
In a statement today, AsiaBio Executive Director, Looi Kem Loong, said the US$70 million plant, which would produce 10 million gallons of green gas, was targeted to be set up by 2016.
"This is a significant milestone in AsiaBio's corporate history, given the innovative bio-refinery technology that is set to change the world's perception on gasoline.
"This will definitely spur the growth of the company," he said.
