KUALA LUMPUR (April 16): Malaysia's consumer price index in March rose 3.5 percent from a year earlier, reflecting a hike in food, transport and electricity, data from the Statistics Department showed on Wednesday.

The rate was unchanged from the previous month, when it hit the highest level since June 2011, and it matched a forecast of 3.5 percent in a Reuters poll of 15 economists.
