KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 24): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed mostly lower today, tracking the performance of the underlying cash market.
Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd dealer Tan Sek Wei said the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was easier due to profit-taking in banking stocks after its recent gains.
"On the other hand, the futures market was also relatively quiet," he told Bernama.
April 2014 fell 1.0 point to 1,861.5 points, May 2014 and June 2014 depreciated 0.5 of-a-point each to 1,860 points and 1,858.5 points, respectively, while September 2014 gained 1.0 point to 1,851 points.
Turnover rose to 4,314 lots from yesterday's 5,976 lots while open interest widened to 38,929 contracts from 35,287 contracts recorded on Wednesday.
The benchmark index fell 2.07 points to 1,865.28 points after hovering between 1,863.51 points and 1,866.32 points throughout the day.
