Tuesday, 20 May 2014 10:42 KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Corp Bhd’s indirect unit MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, along with its consortium partners, has bagged a RM300 million contract to undertake major civil and infrastructure facilities works for the Pengerang Co-generation Plant (PCP) at the refinery and petrochemical integrated development (Rapid) complex in Pengerang, Johor. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, MMC said MMC Engineering Services, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft and Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd had received a letter of award dated May 12 from Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) subsidiary Pengerang Power Sdn Bhd for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract of the PCP project, which is expected to be completed by mid-2017. “MMC group does not foresee any exceptional risks from the Rapid project other than execution risks,” it said, adding that the project is expected to start contributing towards the group’s earnings and net assets from financial year ending Dec 31, 2014.
