| Thursday, 22 May 2014 18:42 KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Lafarge Malaysia Bhd's net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2014, rose 36% to RM73.92 million from RM54.30 million in similar quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter rose to RM676.63 million from RM644.94 million a year ago. The company declared a first interim single tier dividend of 9 sen per share. The group attributed its higher profit to higher cement revenue arising from higher domestic sales. On prospects, the company said that the construction sector is expected to remain positive in 2014 driven mainly by the continued progress of key infrastructure projects and on-going commercial and residential developments. |
