New calendar for China data releases
BEIJING: China will bring forward the release of monthly economic data, including inflation, by a week to the ninth of each month to avoid data leaks, the country's statistics agency said yesterday.
In a statement on its website, the National Bureau of Statistics said monthly economic indicators affected by the change were the consumer price index, the producer price index, factory output, fixed asset investment and retail sales.
Under the change, monthly data will be released on the bureau's website and press briefings originally in place would be scrapped to speed up the publication process. - Reuters
