KUALA LUMPUR: Digistar Corp Bhd announced that its 80%-owned subsidiary Digistar Rauland MSC Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) to provide internet-based security solutions.

Digistar told Bursa Malaysia today that its subsidiary will provide a comprehensive internet protocol-based Central Monitoring System (CMS) Surveillance Platform, known as Panther 911.

“The Panther 911 offers security monitoring services to residential, commercial, industrial and public property, and the data collected will be delivered in real time by DiGi to a CMS Security Solution via its comprehensive internet protocol-based CMS Surveillance Platform to assure safety and security,” said Digistar in a statement.

The group added that the data plans as determined by DiGi will commence in the middle of this year and will continue to operate unless terminated earlier by either party.

Digistar said that its subsidiary will subscribe the data plans from DiGi and offer to its customers at a rate for any data usage in respect of the plans from the combined data pool.

Digistar Rauland will also be responsible for billing and collection of the monthly subscription fees from its customers and the accrued income to its account will include the sale of Panther 911 monitoring services and service fee for the sale of DiGi’s data plan.

Digistar added that as the data plans will commence in the fourth quarter of this year, the MoU is not expected to have any material effect on its issued and paid-up share capital, net assets and earnings for financial year ending Sept 31, 2014.

“However, the MOU is expected to contribute positively for the financial year ending 31 September 2015,” it said.
