KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd’s second quarter net profit for the period ended June 30, 2014, rose 55% to RM 54.63 million, from RM 35.28 million a year ago.

Revenue for the quarter rose almost two-fold or 99% to RM221.69 million, from RM111.57 million a year ago.

The company announced a first interim dividend of 3.5 sen per share, for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2014.

Net profit for the six months fell to RM89.36 million from RM93.67 million a year ago, while cumulative revenue for the period rose to RM399.05 million from RM199.49 million a year ago.

The group remains positive on its prospects for the remainder of FY14, as it has call out contracts estimated at about RM4.5 billion, to last at least until 2018.

It is also optimistic on the prospects for oil and gas in the domestic market going forward, as the group currently has an outstanding tender book of approximately RM400 million.
