SHAH ALAM: Embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim wants to resign from his post, however, Selangor Sultan has ordered him to defer his resignation until the Sultan decides on the new Menteri Besar candidate.

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah also ordered each party - PAS, PKR and DAP - to present more than two names for the consideration of the Sultan.

In a statement issued by the Sultan and read out by Abdul Khalid, the Sultan said that this was in accordance with the convention of appointing a new Menteri Besar.
