KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 29): Education materials publisher Sasbadi Holdings Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Financial Dashboard) reported a net profit of RM3.47 million or 1.05 sen per share on revenue of RM17.55 million for the fourth financial quarter ended Aug 31, 2014.
Sasbadi did not declare any dividend for the quarter.
For the full financial year ended Aug 31, 2014 (FY14), Sasbadi posted a net profit of RM14.51 million or 11.32 sen per share on revenue of RM79.48 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia this evening, Sasbadi said no comparative figures were available for the previous year's corresponding period as it is the first quarterly report prepared for 4Q since its listing on July 23.
As at Aug 31, 2014, Sasbadi's cash and bank balances stood at RM23.89 million, while total assets were RM111.56 million against total liabilities of RM17.85 million.
Going forward, Sasbadi said it is “cautiously optimistic” that its prospects for FY15 will be positive.
The group added that its future plans will involve acquisition of other publishing businesses.
“This, together with organic growth, will provide the impetus for the group to achieve growth in the business and revenue,” it said.
At the same time, Sasbadi is venturing into the teacher education segment in which it currently has no market share, following its acquisition of Penerbitan Multimedia Sdn Bhd for RM1 million, to be funded from its listing proceeds.
Shares of Sasbadi closed up 2.98% to RM1.73 today, bringing a market capitalisation of RM219.71 million.
