KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (TNB) wholly-owned unit Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing (MTM) expects its overseas operations to contribute 25 per cent to the company's bottom line within three years.

"We will continue our efforts to increase revenue contributions from our overseas operations," said its chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Abdullah.

Currently, the overseas operation contribute 10 per cent of its total earnings of RM200 million.

Speaking to reporters after the integrated management system certificate handover ceremony from Sirim QAS International Sdn Bhd here yesterday, Abdul Rashid said the company is expanding its operations in the Asean region.

"We are also in the midst of looking for opportunities in the Middle East," he said.

The certification is a combination of quality, environment and safety based on ISO9001:2008, ISO14001:2004, OSHAS18001:2007 standards.

MTM offer services like site service, remanufacturing/refurbishment of transformer, installation, testing and commissioning and testing.

Some of its major Malaysian customers include TNB, Sarawak Energy Bhd and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It also undertakes work for Ceylon Electrical Services in Brunei.

Also present were TNB president/chief executive officer Datuk Seri Che Khalib, Sirim QAS International managing director Khalidah Mustafa and MTM managing director Mohamed Akhbar Muslim.
