Khazanah appoints new ED of investments
KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd has appointed of Kenneth Shen as an executive director of investments with effect from Friday, July 15.
The government’s investment holding fund said on Wednesday, July 13 that Shen, with more than 25 years of experience in global investment banking and investment management, will be one of the eight EDs of investments.
Shen, was formerly with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) where he served most recently as an adviser to the CEO and a member of the board of directors for Qatar Holding LLC.
During his tenure at QIA, he oversaw QIA’s direct investments in public and private companies as well as investments in private equity, special situations and venture capital funds. Prior to that, he served in Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Salomon Brothers Inc., Lehman Brothers Inc. and Kidd, Kamm & Company.
Khazanah also said its head of the strategic human capital management (SHCM) division Shahnaz Al-Sadat, would relinquish her position as the ED of SHCM from Aug 1.
She takes up a new role as head of Khazanah’s education services company, LeapEd Services Sdn. Bhd. from Oct 15.
Khazanah said Shahnaz was an integral part of the revamping of Khazanah that started in May 2004, having joined the company in August 2004 as director and chief financial officer. She was then appointed ED and head of SHCM in January 2009.
Following Shahnaz’s reassignment, Khazanah’s ED and chief operating officer, Datuk Mohammad Zainal Shaari, will additionally act as ED of SHCM with effect from July 1.
