Share prices for Cenbond (Fundamental: 2.05/3, Valuation: 1.4/3) has risen 27%, so far this month, on heavy volume.
Other than earnings results, the only notable new development was the setting up of a paper bag manufacturing plant in Indonesia, by June 2015, with production capacity of 3 million bags per month. Cenbond has a 51% stake in the JV with the balance owned by Indonesia’s second largest cement producer, PT Bosowa Corporindo.
The JV will supply paper bags to all PT Bosowa’s cement plants in Indonesia. Any excess will be sold to third parties.
Cenbond is mainly involved in the production of paper and plastic packaging. It has over 60% market share in cement bag manufacturing market in Malaysia.
The company has a strong balance sheet with net cash of RM84.3 million or 45.6% of its market capitalisation.
For 9MFYMarch2015, sales fell 7.4% to RM120.0 million while net profit dropped 24.5% to RM10.7 million.
