YTL Power’s 3Q net profit, revenue falls

KUALA LUMPUR (May 21): YTL Power International Bhd (YTL Power) ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Financial Dashboard) registered a net profit of RM222.74 million during the third quarter ended Mar 31, 2015 (3QFY15), a 12.8% decline from RM255.57 million the same time last year.
Revenue too, recorded a decline of 18.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) during the quarter, falling to RM2.68 billion from RM3.3 billion, due to lower revenue recorded in the segment of multi utilities business.
YTL Power’s variety of businesses include power generation, multi utilities, water and sewerage, mobile broadband network and investment holding.
For the cumulative nine-month period, net profit was lower at RM711.72 billion, falling 3.5% from RM737.42 million a year ago. Revenue during the cumulative period also fell to RM9.08 billion, declining 17.8% to RM11.05 billion.
Basic earnings per share stood at 3.17 sen for the quarter, and 10.26 sen for the nine-month period.
YTL Power’s (fundamental: 1.2; valuation: 2.4) share price closed unchanged at RM1.66 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM11.68 billion.
