KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 2): Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: 2.10, Fundamental: 2.30) has issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Lay Hong Bhd ( Valuation: 1.40, Fundamental: 0.75) today due to the recent sharp rise in the price of the company's shares.

Lay Hong is involved in the production of fresh table and specialty chicken eggs, chilled and frozen dressed chicken/parts and processing of related chicken products. It also operates community type retail supermarket business.

In a statement today, the regulator advised investors to take note of the company's reply to the UMA query, which will be posted on Bursa Malaysia's website under company announcements.

Lay Hong rose 0.95% or five sen to a high of RM5.30 in the morning session today.
