British High Commission to relocate
KUALA LUMPUR: The British High Commission has confirmed its intention to sell its current site and relocate to a commercial building.
Confirming a Business Times report, its acting High Commissioner Ray Kyles said they are keen to take advantage of the state-of-the-art office space that now exists in KL.
"It meets our needs far better in terms of delivering the complex strands of a dynamic bilateral relationship in the 21st century," he said.
Kyles said the commission plans to go forward, with resources to match.
"It is however an inescapable fact that, to fund more front line activity at a time of reducing budgets, we must be much more efficient in how we operate here and in other countries," he said.
He said from that perspective, the move makes good business sense in giving the commission the means to expand its engagement.
