Syed Faisal Albar is Proton chairman
By theedgemarkets.com / theedgemarkets.com | May 5, 2016 : 9:34 PM MYTKUALA LUMPUR (May 5): Proton Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar Syed Ali Rethza Albar as its non-executive chairman, following the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on March 31.
In a statement today, Proton said Syed Faisal Albar, who is group managing director (MD) of DRB-Hicom Bhd, will also assume the role of Group Lotus Plc chairman.
"Among other key positions held by Syed Faisal Albar previously included group MD of Pos Malaysia Bhd, executive director of Konsortium Logistik Bhd, chief executive officer (CEO) of Malakoff Corp Bhd and CEO of Gas Malaysia Bhd," said Proton.
"His experience and proven track record in growing revenue and profitability will be especially advantageous to Proton which is currently undergoing a turnaround in its business," it added.
