Thai denies reports of Supermax HQ being moved to HK

Instead, Supermax, he said, would invest RM100mil in high-end technology manufacturing of contact lens and keep its global manufacturing headquarters for contact lens and glove businesses in Malaysia under sound economic policies.
Supermax also outlined its 10- to 15-year roadmap including plans to increase glove manufacturing capacity from 24 billion pieces to 45 billion pieces and capital expenditure would range between RM1bil and RM1.2bil.
“Supermax is also looking to increase contact lens capacity from 70 million pieces to two billion pieces,” he told a press conference here.
Rumours were rife recently that Supermax would move its headquarters from Malaysia to Hong Kong.
Thai also noted that the Economic Transformation Programme had placed Malaysia on the right track to achieve a steady economic growth.
He welcomed government effort in steadily pursuing policies that encouragec local and foreign firms to expand their business especially with the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. - Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR: Supermax Corp Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Stanley Thai Kim Sim has denied reports that he is moving the company headquarters to Hong Kong.Instead, Supermax, he said, would invest RM100mil in high-end technology manufacturing of contact lens and keep its global manufacturing headquarters for contact lens and glove businesses in Malaysia under sound economic policies.
