Stock With Momentum: Solution Engineering Holdings

Solution Engineering Holdings Bhd (+ve)

SHARES in Solution Engineering Holdings Bhd (fundamental: 2.55/3, valuation: 1.1/3) climbed three sen or 6.82% to close at 47 sen last Friday with a volume of 18.88 million shares, compared to the 200-day average volume of 2.03 million shares.

Solution Engineering specialises in the design and development of teaching equipment for engineering education. Its products are used in universities, polytechnics and colleges.

The company reported a 47.5% increase in net profit to RM1.85 million in its first financial quarter ended March 31, 2016 (1QFY16) on better margins and effective cost management. Revenue for 1QFY16, however, fell 29.4% to RM6.34 million from RM8.98 million a year ago.

At the current share price, Solution Engineering is trading at 2.8 times its book value.
