ETCM sets 20pc Sabah, Sarawak sales target
Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) is eyeing to raise the sales
contribution from Sabah and Sarawak to 20 per cent of that nationwide in
three years time, its sales director, Khoo Cheng Pah said.
He said sales in the two states at the moment represented 10 percent of the national total for Nissan vehicles.
"We aim to double this figure under our three-year plan, with the
sales and after sales network being upgraded and expanded," he said at
the opening of the ETCM showroom in Miri today.
The event was officiated by Sarawak Assistant Minister of Communication, Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
Koo said ETCM's plan for Sabah and Sarawak includes strengthening the
model line-up to cover segments which Nissan did not have representation
as yet.
"Sarawak, having 55 per cent of East Malaysia's TIV (Total Industry
Volume), is a region where we need to renew our focus," he added.
On the company's performance in Miri, he said the ETCM branch
contributed an average of 16.7 per cent to Nissan sales in Sarawak
between 2005 and 2010.
However, the branch had contributed 26 per cent to sales in the state, in the first six months of this year.-- Bernama
