Kenanga plans fund launches in Sri Lanka
K&N Kenanga Holdings Bhd's investment arm in Sri Lanka, Kenanga
Investment Corporation Ltd (KICL), which has secured the Investment
Managers' Licence there, plans to launch three investment funds by the
end of the year.
The first fund will roll out before the end of the third quarter, followed by two more by year-end, said K&N Kenanga.
"Sri Lanka is on the international investors' radar due to its
rapidly growing economy. Therefore we would want to leverage on every
opportunity available and fill the gaps in financial products and
services," KICL Deputy Chairman Rohan Senanayake said in a statement
today.
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka granted the licence to KICL on June 29, 2011.
The licence allows KICL to offer new investment fund management products to cater for specific target markets. -- Bernama
