Affin Investment opens branch in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Investment Bank (AIB) is expanding its
stockbroking footprint by launching a new branch at Taman Midah in
Cheras recently.

"In our endeavour to raise financial literacy
and encourage people with various risk appetites to invest and grow
their money, AIB aims to increase its community outreach through a
meaningful footprint of 20 over stockbroking branches in the next three
years," AIB's stockbroking head Datuk Saiful Bahri Zainuddin said in a
statement.

The new branch is to cater to the investment needs
of the communities who are potential investors and do not explore tools
beyond a saving account and fixed deposits to increase the quantum of
their investment portfolios.

Saiful said with an established
track-record over a decade, AIB's growing intelligent network of
stockbroking branches is committed to educating more and more Malaysians
and instilling confidence to seek and benefit from alternative avenues
for investments, including stocks and shares.





He said compared to some regional countries such as Vietnam, India,
Indonesia and Thailand, Malaysians have lower risk-appetite.


"This is reflected by the fact that more than RM1.2 trillion sit with
our banks as deposits earning conservative rate of returns."

The
stockbroking division of AIB, he added, wants to take advantage of this
through a business strategy and model encouraging community-outreach.

"Through these branches and experienced remisiers, dealers and market
experts, we equip the consumers with relevant information, consultation
and complementing product solutions; which will help raise awareness as
well as contribute to growing investments," Saiful said.
