Lion-related stocks rise on China Steel offer
Shares of companies controlled by the Lion Group rose after China Steel Corp was said to have offered to buy the Malaysian group’s steel business.
Lion Industries Corp rose 7.2 per cent to RM1.78 at 9:10 a.m. local time in Kuala Lumpur trading, set for the steepest gain since June 22.
Lion Corp, the single-biggest shareholder of Lion Industries, surged 9.1 per cent to 30 sen.
Lion Diversified Holdings Bhd, which owns a stake in Lion Corp, added 5.7 per cent to 55.5 sen. -- Bloomberg
