How to gain confidence in trading for beginners
1. Paper trade first
Do a paper trade buy and sell according to situation. Put items like why i do this trade, why i Profit take....why i cut lost....notes to remember. then you can record what happen to the stock after you PT or CL. what you should do the next time. For some brokerage like OSK there is a trading game. go and buy and sell from there, get familiar with it.
When you keep winning in paper trade you can move to the next step. If you keep losing big do not proceed to the next step [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Remember trading in real life is alot different than paper trade so i recomend the next step.
2. Trade small first,if u keep winning trade bigger....
example practice with 100 lot first learn how to handle 100 lot first then go bigger. if you go from trading 100lot normally to 1000lot you will panic and cut lost or profit take too early or late. Master the emotion of trading small then go bigger!!! Remember big cap with lousy skill will be gone. Small cap with good skill will become big [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
3. Go for familiar stocks
For beginners trade what you are familiar with. Dont go in a stock you have no exposure at all. Try to study the movement, observe the stock learn the pattern of the stock at the same time know who you are playing with. Dont jump in without knowledge, even pros will suffer if they do not know what they are dealing with. For me personally even buying say 5-10 lots i can understand the whole movement of a particular stock.
4. Follow the pros
Finally if still scared or the above step dont work. Follow max lor...use his heart and brain first [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Trust me you will learn lots about a stock and sitaution when you trade with a pro [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]. Ask plenty of question when you are in a stock, see what he says when a particular situation. If he said tiu lor means run.....if he say huat means hold lor [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
