Batu Kawan Q3 profit rises to RM215m

KUALA LUMPUR: Batu Kawan Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended June 30, 2011 rose to RM214.824 million from RM203.223 million in the same period last year.
Revenue increased to RM72.941 million from RM55.324 million previously.
In filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the better results were due to higher profit contribution from its plantation associate, Kuala Lumpur-Kepong Bhd, and from the units due to higher selling prices. - Bernama
