Perdana Petroleum Q2 profit at RM8.9m

Perdana Petroleum Bhd recorded a pre-tax profit of RM8.914 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 compared to a pre-tax loss of RM34.847 million in the same period last year.

Revenue rose to RM73.357 million from RM57.351 million previously due to the
improvement in vessel utilisation and charter rates, it said in a filing to
Bursa Malaysia today.

On prospect, Perdana Petroleum said it was cautiously optimistic that this
year would be a turnaround year for the company. The company expected its offshore marine business to see an improvement in performance in the coming years. -- Bernama
