White Horse posts lower Q2 pre-tax profit

White Horse Bhd's pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 fell to RM18.346 million from RM22.163
million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Its revenue, however, improved to RM139.747 million from RM139.277 million previously, it said in a statement today.
In the half-year period, the ceraminic manufacturer's pre-tax profit declined to RM35.173 million from RM38.632 million in the corresponding period last year.
Its revenue, however, rose to RM258.097 million from RM254.739 million previously. It attributed the lower profit to higher production cost.
White Horse expected the third-quarter result to be more encouraging in view of the additional production capacity to be rolled out in the second half of this year, coupled with the continuous market demand. -- Bernama
