Boustead bids for Esso Malaysia stake

Boustead Holdings Bhd said it was among bidders for three Exxon Mobil Corp units in Malaysia and that its offer for Esso Malaysia Bhd was “fair and competitive.”
Boustead said it never had any intention to close down the Port Dickson refinery or lay off staff, according to a stock exchange filing today, clarifying recent media reports. The comments came after San Miguel Corp agreed to acquire three Exxon Mobil units in Malaysia for US$610 million last month. -- Bloomberg
