AirAsia eyes 80pc load for Da Nang route
KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd, the leading and largest low-cost carrier in Asia, says it is striving to touch 80 per cent total
passenger load monthly for its new route to Da Nang, Vietnam.
Flying four times weekly, the frills-free airline will use its Airbus A320, with a seating capacity of 180, said Regional Head of Commercial Kathleen Tan.
"Da Nang is the third destination for AirAsia in Vietnam after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is the airline's seventh destination within Indochina which includes Siem Reap, Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vientiane (Laos) and Yangon (Myanmar)," she told a media briefing today.
"Usually for a new route, we aim for 70 per cent total passenger load, but we are confident of reaching 80 per cent for this route backed by the huge demand from our customers," Tan said adding that AirAsia has carried around 2.8 million passengers to Vietnam since 2006.
Apart from being a tourism attraction, Da Nang was chosen for its location in central Vietnam, making it a convenient meeting point for the country's small and medium entrepreneurs, she said.
In conjunction with the introduction of this new route, she said AirAsia will offer an all-in-fare from RM69 for the travel period of Dec 16 until October next year.
The promo-fare is available online at airasia.com and via mobile at mobile.airasia.com. Booking period is Oct 5-12, 2011. - Bernama
