Tin price continues slide
KUALA LUMPUR: The tin price on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) today slipped US$100 to close at US$20,000 per tonne on low buying demand, dealers said.
However, the price of the metal on the London Metal Exchange (LME), gained US$25 to US$20,025 per tonne. A dealer said, the US$20,000 level would be breached, if the LME exhibits a slight change in price.
At the opening level, buyers bid for 20 tonnes while sellers offered 86 tonnes.
The day's turnover rose to 55 tonnes from 45 tonnes yesterday with participation by Japanese, European and local traders.
The premium between the KLTM and LME narrowed to US$315 per tonne from US$440 per tonne on Monday. - BERNAMA
