VW has no plans beyond DRB-Hicom tie-up

olkswagen AG has no plans at the moment to expand operations in Malaysia beyond a partnership with DRB-Hicom, a spokesman said.
“"We’re engaged in a very positive partnership with DRB-Hicom in Malaysia,” VW spokesman Christoph Adomat said today by phone. “We started making Passat models with DRB several weeks ago and we will gradually expand this engagement to other vehicles. Beyond this, there are currently no further considerations” to expand our local operations, he said. “Malaysia is an important market for VW, just like the entire ASEAN region.” -- Bloomberg
