MRCB UNIT GETS RM13.93 MLN EPF CONTRACT

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd's (MRCB)wholly-owned unit, MRCB Engineering Sdn Bhd (MESB), has accepted a RM13.93 million contract from the Employees Profident Fund (EPF).

In filing to Bursa Malaysia today, MRCB said the contract involved renovating and upgrading the EPF building in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

It said the project would provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the synergies within the group which made cross-division assignment possible.

"The project also provides the opportunity for the group to venture into building upgrading and refurbishment," it said.

MRCB said the project would be funded via internally-generated funds and/or borrowings.

It said the transaction was not expected to have any effect on the earning per share, net assets per share, gearing, share capital and substantial shareholders' shareholding of the company for the current financial year endingD ec 31, 2011.

"The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from next year,Jan 16, which is the date of site possession," it said. -- BERNAMA
