SapuraCrest arm, Cosco in US$227m vessel deal
SapuraCrest Petroleum Bhd's wholly-owned unit TL Offshore Sdn Bhd (TLO) has finalised, executed and formalised two separate contracts with Cosco (Nantong) Shipyard Co Ltd.
The contracts, with a combined value of US$227 million (US$1=RM3.15), are
for the construction of two pipelay-cum-heavylift offshore construction vessels.
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, SapuraCrest said that both parties have
agreed that the contract would be effective from Sept 10, 2011.
It noted that one of the vessels is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth
quarter of 2013, with the other vessel scheduled for delivery in the first
quarter of 2014. -- Bernama
