AirAsia X to axe Europe, India routes
AirAsia X Sdn Bhd, the long-haul arm of Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia
Bhd, said it will drop flights to India, Paris and London from its hub
in Kuala Lumpur to focus on routes to Australia and Asia.
The
"continued high jet fuel prices and the weakening demand for air travel
from Europe" have placed cost pressures on operating long-haul budget
flights between Asia and Europe, Azran Osman-Rani, chief executive
officer said in an e-mailed statement today. -- Bloomberg
