Main contractors for elevated Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line confirmed
PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd and Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB) have received the letters of acceptance from MRT Corp that confirms their appointments as the main contractors for the two elevated packages of the My Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang line.
Both companies announced this in separate statements to Bursa Malaysia.
AZRB said the date for practical completion for the works was June 30, 2016 and the date for line completion for the whole of the works was July 31, 2017.
It added that the contract would contribute positively to its earnings and net tangible asset for the financial years ending 2012 to 2017.

IJM Corp also said the project would contribute positively to its future earnings.
MRT Corp, the project and asset owner of the country's largest infrastructure undertaking to date, had said in a statement last Thursday that IJM Corp and AZRB were appointed the main contractors for package V5 and package V6 respectively of the MRT construction works.
IJM Corp's contract involves the construction and completion of a viaduct guideway and other associated works from the Maluri Portal to the Plaza Phoenix station worth RM974mil.
AZRB's portion entails the construction and completion of a viaduct guideway and other associated works from Plaza Phoenix to Bandar Tun Hussein Onn station totalling RM764mil.
A viaduct guideway is an elevated guideway structure on which the tracks of MRT trains will be located.
MRT Corp had said that both awards were subject to the successful tenderers accepting the letters of acceptance to be issued in due course.
